“Born and raised on Long Island, I am an oil pastel artist living and working in South Jersey, near Philadelphia. In my work, I enjoy combining traditional painting and drawing techniques with less conventional elements, like decoupage, metallic paints, glitter, or digital painting using Photoshop. I love to include handwritten text, with an emphasis on oddball humor and stream-of-consciousness diaristic observations. I’m inspired by bright colors and weird facts.
I have a BA in Art and Art History from Drew University.
In addition to an extensive knowledge of oil pastels, I’m trained in archival custom framing techniques, and have years of experience working in art materials retail. A seasoned small business manager, I also have experience consulting on internal processes, organizing and maintaining databases, and other organisational design needs. If you have a creative project you think I can help with, please let me know!”-Jen Richter
